Having, as we trust, been brought by Divine grace to repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and to give up ourselves to Him, and having been baptized upon our profession of faith, in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, we do now, relying on His gracious aid, solemnly and joyfully make our covenant with each other. As members of God’s covenant family known as The Orchard Community Church, we do now, relying upon His gracious aid, joyfully commit ourselves to God to one another to be Christ like in our lives and relationships.
We will work and pray for the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
We will walk together in brotherly love, as become the members of a Christian Church. We will love one another as Christ loved us, honor one another above ourselves, be kind and compassionate to one another, encourage and build up one another, comfort one another, and be hospitable.
We will be united in mind and convictions and meet together on a regular basis, we will rejoice when others rejoice and are happy, and we will endeavor to sympathetically and tenderly bear each other’s burdens and sorrows. We will seek by the gracious power of God in our lives to consider others more important than ourselves.
We will endeavor to nurture one another toward spiritual maturity. We will use our God-given knowledge to graciously instruct one another, use our spiritual gifts to bless one another, and by a pure and loving example to seek the salvation of our family and friends.
We will be patient with one another, forgive one another, and seek to gently, lovingly, and firmly restore those who are weak. We will refuse to speak negatively about each other, nor pass judgment on one another. We seek to live lives that are morally pure and live lives that reflect the transforming power of the Gospel. We will rely upon the grace of God as we seek to control our tongues, and not be greedy. We will be grateful and thankful for the many blessings that God has bestowed upon us as individuals, upon our families, our community, and our church.
We will work together for the continuance of a faithful evangelical ministry in this church, as we sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines. We will contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel through all nations.
We will keep our focus on the mission of this church as defined by the Scriptures, seeking to glorify God through leading others to a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We will seek to follow a clear and distinct strategy for discipleship in which we seek to Love God and others, Learn the principles and precepts of God’s Word, and to Live out the truths and principles of Scripture.
We will seek to work toward planting new churches as the Lord leads and directs. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with us all.
