Punctuate Gospel Conversation Guide
Punctuation changes everything! The Resurrection of Jesus is God's punctuation mark on history.
It changes everything.
! The Resurrection Demands A Response
If the resurrection of Jesus is true, it's the most important thing in the world.
If it's not true, the resurrection isn't important at all. The only thing the resurrection of Jesus
absolutely can't be is only somewhat important.
"...that Christ died for our sins according to Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day, according to Scriptures..." 1 Corinthians 15:3b-4 CSB
? What Is Your Response?
There's really only three responses to the resurrection. I believe, I don't believe, I need to hear more.
Remember that the response here can change the direction for the rest of the conversation.
"When they heard about the resurrection of the dead, some began to ridicule him, but others said, 'We'd like to hear from you again about this.'...However, some people joined and believed..." Acts 17:32,34 CSB
; Your Story's Not Finished
For those who believe, the resurrection gives us new life now and eternal life to come.
For those who don't believe or who need to hear more, the good news is that this isn't the end of their story. Just because they don't believe doesn't mean they never will.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!" 2 Corinthians 5:17 CSB
. . . Something's Missing
For those who believe, that something is actually a someone. Part of our new life is helping others find theirs. For those who don't believe or who need to hear more, our prayer is that one day they will realize something is missing from their lives, remember this conversation, and come back to talk again.
"Faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Christ."
Romans 10:17 CSB
